Newstar Design operates the Nova website service (the “Service”). It is Newstar Design’s policy to respect the privacy of both people who create websites on the Service (“Customers”) as well as people who become users of those sites (“Users”).

Your privacy is important to us. The Newstar Design privacy policy is designed around these principals:

We don’t ask for your personal information unless we truly need it
We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, for product development purposes, or to protect our rights
We don’t market to the Users of your website unless they are also a Customer of Newstar Design

Gathering of Non-Personally Identifying Information

Newstar Design collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Newstar Design’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Newstar Design’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Newstar Design may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website. Newstar Design also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Newstar Design does not use such information to identify its visitors, however, and does not disclose such information, other than under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information, as described below.

Gathering of Personally Identifying Information

Certain visitors to the Newstar Design website (, and to websites built on the Newstar Design Nova system, choose to interact with the sites in ways that require Newstar Design to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Newstar Design gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up for a website on Newstar Design to provide a username and email address. Those who engage in transactions with Newstar Design, for example by purchasing a subscription to Nova, are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Newstar Design collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Newstar Design. Newstar Design does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. Visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Protection of Certain Personally Identifying Information

Newstar Design takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of personally identifying information. Newstar Design discloses personally identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Newstar Design’s behalf or to provide services available at Newstar Design’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Newstar Design’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Newstar Design will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone.
